Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 Intellisense CPR Feedback Electrode Pads

Non-polarized adult pads with Intellisense CPR (ICPR) Feedback for use with the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 AED deliver defibrillation and CPR feedback in accordance with the 2020 AHA Resuscitation Guidelines.

It can be challenging to consistently deliver high-quality CPR compressions according to resuscitation guidelines, especially in stressful rescue scenarios. To aid both professional and lay rescuers in providing the most effective CPR, the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 AED is equipped with Intellisense CPR (ICPR) technology. This innovative feature includes a unique motion sensor and a proprietary algorithm that monitors CPR performance and gives real-time, guided feedback to assist rescuers in delivering top-notch CPR. The AED will provide corrective prompts via voice and text if compressions do not meet the standards for high-quality CPR, guiding rescuers to provide the best possible care.

Compression rate

A metronome guides rescuers and provides voice and text corrections when the compression rate falls outside the guidelines. This powerful combination of coaching and feedback helps keep rescuers on pace to deliver optimal compressions. These pads have a shelf life of two years. It is recommended to keep an extra set of electrodes on hand.

Compression depth

Pressing too hard? Not hard enough? The ICPR system utilizes a non-slip, motion-sensing disc, placed in the center of the chest, to monitor the depth of compressions. The feedback system helps the rescuer achieve the target 2–2.4-inch (5-6cm) compression depth.

 Chest recoil

The ICPR system prompts rescuers to fully release between compressions. According to resuscitation guidelines, observational studies have shown that leaning on the chest wall is a common mistake during CPR for adults and children. Therefore, preventing this error is critical. Resuscitation guidelines also report that leaning on the chest wall between compressions can hinder full chest wall recoil and have a potential impact on resuscitation outcomes.

The ICPR technology integrated in the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 AED is designed to support rescuers with real-time, guideline-driven feedback, helping them deliver the most effective CPR to increase the chance of survival from SCA.
